reply all abuse
I arrived at work this morning to this—
It seems that throughout the company, from coast to coast, from Japanese Equity Sales to financial advisory to offshore accounts, a shocking number of financial professionals still do not know the fucking differenence between “REPLY” and “REPLY ALL.”
Now we’re in the phase where angry people are abusing the reply all function to tell everyone to stop abusing the reply all function.
Mona from the Credit Division says:
PLEASE READ THIS EMAIL CAREFULLY
You are not on any distribution list, only one email was sent out in error to which everyone is replying, “Please remove me from your list.”
DO NOT REPLY ALL, AGAIN PLEASE DO NOT REPLY ALL AND YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED.
Thank you and Happy Friday!
Joanne from Fairfield, CT says:
Everyone- stop sending as reply to all
(in Comic Sans, no less, so you know she means business)
Cassandra from Alexandria, VA says, in the largest font our email platform can support:
STOP “REPLYING TO ALL” PLEASE!!!
Monique from West Windsor, NJ says:
STOP REPLY TO ALL!!!
Thomas from Newton, MA says:
stop
Gina from Newton, MA says:
If everyone stops replying to these emails this email chain will stop. There is no distribution list. We were all sent this email in error. Please stop replying and this will stop. Thank you.
Guillermo from Bloomfield Hills, MI says, in a large red font including underlines and italics:
PLEASE STOP WITH REPLY TO ALL
Maureen from Mt. Laurel, NJ says:
STOP REPLYING TO ALL CLOGGING UUP MY EMAIL
and follows it up with
OMG STOP
The efforts of these and other heroic individuals, however, did not stop Mary from Nashville, TN from sending out four identical emails to the entire distribution list, each of which reads:
I don’t have a distribution list; you are sending this to the wrong person
LMFAO!!! this happens a lot in my company. We had an epic case of it one day last year where it went on all afternoon. People kept getting sillier as the day went on, sprinkled in with the morons who replied to all to say don’t reply to all (eyeroll) there were some that just said stuff about how this was the funniest thing they’d ever seen. I don’t see how those people didn’t get fired. I actually kept a bunch of the emails because they are hilarious, but I’m smart enough to keep that to myself.
